How to Add Captions to an AI Rap Video and Fix Names

Short answer: the video you download is an MP4 with sound and no captions, and there is no lyrics sheet, so captions are added afterwards in another app. TikTok, Instagram and CapCut can write captions from the audio; then play the video line by line and fix names and lyrics by hand before you post.

The steps below come from each app’s own help pages, read on October 5, 2026. We have not run them on our videos yet. CapCut’s help notes that background noise lowers accuracy, and a rap over a beat is harder to transcribe than plain speech, so expect to correct a few lines.

What you start with

Your download
FileAn MP4 with sound, named hotel-lobby-video.mp4
Length5, 8, 10, 12 or 15 seconds on the Hotel Lobby stage
CaptionsNone in the video
LyricsNo lyrics sheet and no separate audio file
Where the words come fromAI rap: written by the model from your topic. Your song: your recording. The Hotel Lobby track: the original verse.

Your topic is not the lyrics. The AI writes its own lines about it, so the captions have to come from the audio.

Three free ways to add captions

AppHowGood to know
TikTokUpload the video; on the preview screen tap Captions, or on the post screen tap More options, then Select video language (TikTok Support).Captions can be edited after posting: tap the caption, then Edit captions.
Instagram ReelsBefore sharing, tap More options and turn on Enable closed captions (Instagram Help).Closed captions are written from the speech; there is also a toggle to translate them.
CapCutIn the editor, open Captions, then Auto Captions, pick the language and tap Generate (CapCut Help).Captions burn into the exported video, so they show on every app.

Fix names and rap lines by ear

  1. Play one line at a time with the sound up.
  2. Fix the spelling of every name first. Auto-captions often turn names into common words.
  3. Write what the rap actually says, not what you hoped it would say. Captions that do not match the sound look wrong.
  4. Split long lines so each caption fits on two short rows.
  5. Check slang and rhymes last, then watch the whole video once more.

If the name in the rap itself comes out wrong, captions cannot fix the sound. Make a new video, or record the words yourself and upload them as Your song.

Place captions so they do not cover faces

  • In the Hotel Lobby booth, the faces sit in the upper half and the mic hangs between them. Keep captions in the lower third.
  • TikTok and Reels put buttons on the right and text at the bottom. Leave a margin there, and check it in the app’s preview.
  • Use one style for both performers, or a different color for each in a rap battle.

Export and check the whole video

  • Watch the export from start to end: timing, spelling and nothing covering a face.
  • Keep the original MP4 too. It stays in My videos until you delete it.
  • On TikTok, turn on the AI-generated label as well (TikTok).

FAQ

Does the AI rap video come with lyrics?

No. There is no lyrics sheet and no separate audio file. The words are only in the sound of the MP4.

Can I use my topic as the captions?

No. The topic tells the AI what to rap about; it writes its own lines. Captions have to follow what is actually sung.

Which app gets rap lyrics most right?

We have not compared them yet. All three transcribe the audio automatically, and all three let you edit the text.

Are auto-captions free?

The caption features described on TikTok’s, Instagram’s and CapCut’s help pages do not mention a fee; check the app before you rely on extras.

Can I fix a name the rap says wrong?

Only in the captions. To change what is heard, make a new video or record the words yourself and upload them as Your song.
